This book has some lovely work. I love crocheted flowers, whenever I see a pattern for one, I always think of my Granddaughter. She loves flowers! Thanks for the heads up about this book! This collage of flowers, foliage and trailing plants is displayed in a arrangement that you can use mixed media to create. The bright, bold and happy colors of marigolds and geraniums are offset with cool blues and silvery blues in imaginative leafy stems. Poppy Pozy

All of the motifs are inspired in some way by Chris' garden and the collages roughly follow the pattern of the seasons from the first flowers in spring, through to the frosty leaves of winter. A review by Dee Dee Chainey: The Time Traveller’s Herbal – Stories and recipes from the historical apothecary cabinet by Amanda Edmiston, published by David & Charles. I am intrigued by the designs you show in the review. This book is definitely worth adding to my wish list! Alongside the more usual front-on view of flowers in full bloom, Chris has included some patterns for flowers viewed from the side, half-opened flowers, buds, seedheads, berries and fungi. There is also a large variety of foliage types from individual leaves to leafy stems, ferns and grasses. You can use your favorite yarns for these projects. That is a most extraordinary crochet book. It is an art book. I would love to make one of her collages. I have a brown thumb but maybe I can have some forever plants with these gorgeous patterns. Thanks for the pictures and the review. I would love to win that book from you. The Collages (aka chapters) are titled: Woodland Glade, Spring Awakening, Cottage Garden, Vintage Blue Bouquet, Midsummer Daydream, Flower Meadow, Terracotta Pot, Poppy Pozy, Autumn Wreath, and Midwinter Magic. Each of the patterns in each section includes written instructions as well as a little chart! This is particularly helpful, as the patterns are written in UK terms. Crochet designer and gardener, Chris Norrington, has created 100 crochet motifs arranged in 10 collages based on the beautiful flowers and plants found in her wonderful cottage garden on the edge of the beautiful North York Moors National Park. Helpful Tips: Sewing in multiple yarn tails, using variegated yarns for a more natural effect, and adding different textures. What a beautiful book. I love the patterns and color combinations. You can tell so much thought went into this book. Some of the patterns are different from what I have seen. Crochet Collage Garden: 100 patterns for crochet flowers

One of my crochet goals this year is to use some of the crochet thread I have stashed. This would be perfect for that. Thanks for reviewing the books and spreading the joy.

All of the crochet motifs will have written crochet patterns so they are very accessible. You can enjoy making the same collages in the book or mix and match your favourite plants and flowers to create your own compositions. Wow , so much detail in each blossom and greenery. I’d love to use these to add to quilted table runners and wall hangings. TY for the review and giveaway. Wow! Such beautiful floral motifs and collages! I love to crochet flowers and I love flower gardens! Crochet Collage Garden is a gorgeous and inspiring crochet book. Thanks for your review of the book!

And then you get to put them together! As appliques, artwork, you could even sew them into a giant bespoke blanket! And I really love the idea of putting them on the front of greeting cards. They are arranged into 10 Collages - collections inspired by Chris's garden, each including 10 different patterns. They represent a "year in (her) Yorkshire garden" - how lovely!Note: To give a natural effect, make mushrooms with stems of varying lengths, so there are taller and shorter ones within a group. 4 I've used… All the patterns include the yarn and hook used. Most seem to be shown with DK weight yarn, and made with a 3mm crochet hook - but certainly not all! And of course, these pieces are perfect for any odd balls or leftover bits of yarn you have - just match the hook to the yarn! The possibilities are just about endless - every creation will be your own!
